Not Your Mamma’s Seasoning

Shaking Dash Everything Bagel seasoning onto unbaked fresh bagels on an aluminum baking sheet

Salt is sneaky. It’s everywhere, including where you least expect it. Sure, it says, “garlic,” and, “celery,” salt, but what about others? Old Bay? Chili powder? Steak seasoning?

Many can be remade at home, but what if you don’t want to buy 20 spices to create your own?

Enter no salt spice blends. While the name has changed, it’s been around for years. And it’s no longer your momma’s seasoning. Blends include grilling for steak and chicken, Everything Bagel, and many others. My favorites include Extra Spicy, Southwest Chipotle and Garlic Herb.

Perfect for veggies, any meat or even tofu. A quick shake, maybe a sprinkling of salt and you’re set!

Other brands do exist, including a Kirkland version, so you know it’s good.

By starting with no salt blends, you give yourself complete control of the sodium in your meal.

What’s your favorite blend?
