A chat at work about Valentine’s Day dinner reservations being impossible got me thinking. For context, this year the day falls on a Saturday, so the pressure is on not just for a romantic evening, but a wonderful day.

With the full Saturday available, why not plan to spend the day inside, binging your favorite show (Schitt’s Creek in honor of Catherine O’Hara anyone?) and making dinner at home?

Start with a simple breakfast of low sodium bacon, eggs, maybe pancakes or waffles. Definitely order lunch delivered and get what you both want. Since you’re staying in, two deliveries is totally ok.

After lunch, start making this easy recipe for Prime Rib. It’s so simple and arguably one of the most romantic meals an omnivore can enjoy. Finish with roasted potatoes (any type, tossed in olive oil and Italian herb blend) and steamed or roasted veggies. Green beans are classic.

Serve with a robust red wine, a dish of au jus and you’ve got a meal worthy of snuggling and a post dinner nap.

What’s your Valentine’s Day meal plan?
